Deletions:
===The Role of the State:===
1) End State Paternalism: Whether religious, monarchist, autocratic, ‘Burkean’ conservative, fascist or socialist, these ideologies are all based on the central premise that there is a ruling class that knows best. By definition, therefore, they always undermine the freedom, liberty and the responsibility of the individual.
1) That totalitarian authoritarian state (eg. communism and fascism) degrade and destroy the human spirit and free will.
1) Socialism and ‘Burkean’ Conservatism are also systems that want to use the state as a means of controlling the individual and instructing people what they should or shouldn’t do. They are both ‘government knows best’ ideologies run by a small cabal of arrogant leaders (normally men!).
